ABOUT

When my daughters ask what I do for a living, I give them a different answer every time.

They're still too young to understand brands, business, or why someone would hire me to imagine what could exist before it does. One day I'll probably tell them I help organizations find the stories that make people want to belong.

Until then, it's easier to say that I make ideas real.

I've spent the last twenty-five years creating brand narratives for organizations like SpaceX, Nike, Stanford, Ben & Jerry's, Meta, and many others. The work has taken many forms—campaigns, platforms, films, identities, products—but it has always started from the same place: finding the idea worth building.

That means moving comfortably between disciplines. Strategy and craft. Writing and design. Systems thinking and intuition. Human insight and AI. I don't think creativity lives in any one of those worlds. I think it happens where they meet.

People experience that differently. A CEO usually sees a creative partner who thinks about the business as much as the brand. A CMO sees someone obsessed with coherence. Strategists often discover I'm as interested in the question as I am in the answer. Designers realize I still love making things with my own hands.

I simply think of myself as someone who's still curious.

I've been fortunate to build a career that has taken me from Brazil—where I was lucky enough to win Cannes Lions, Webby Awards, and later serve on the Cannes PR jury—to Portland, Oregon, where I joined ENSO as an Executive Creative Director.

The title matters less than the practice.

I still believe the best way to think is by making.

And when the day is over, I usually go for a swim.

By the time I get home, the next idea has often found me.

For my daughters, though, I'm just papai.
